For over 13 years FILM VENTURE have run Ireland’s leading Camera Acting Intensives. This Summer we are launching a brand new ‘Screen Acting Fundamentals’ course with IFTA nominated and multi-award winning film director Graham Cantwell running over six Wednesday evenings in central Dublin.
SCREEN ACTING FUNDAMENTALS OVERVIEW
A 6 week course for experienced actors and beginners that covers the fundamentals of acting for the screen. With an emphasis on practical scene work, this course will give your acting muscles a strong workout.
The course will be led by Graham Cantwell, an IFTA nominated and multi-award winning film director with over two decades of experience in the industry. Working from tried and tested acting methods and his own observations and experiences, Graham has refined his approach to working with actors over the years and has distilled his techniques into easily taught and executed exercises.
Every session will revolve around analysis and performance of duologue scenes with different partners, followed by filming and review of the footage. At the end of the course actors will be given a link to review their workshop footage and analyse at home.
Each individual’s approach and interpretation will be analysed and fine tuned to help improve instincts and develop compelling, believable and moving performances.

The six week course costs €195, which is payable in advance at the button below. Classes take place in the Lab on Foley Street in Dublin, from 6pm – 8:45pm on Wednesday evenings.
Please note that while fees are non refundable, subject to availability and a minimum 1 week’s notice you may transfer your fee to reserve a place on a later course date should the need arise. In the event Film Venture is required to postpone/cancel the course due to Covid restrictions you will of course be issued with a full refund.
We will contact you with your first duologue scene in the days before the first workshop.
